This manual will provide you a better insight on how to recycle the non-conforming products at the production lines. The more we recycle the less we will pollute our planet. Working together we will help the environment.  

 
RECYCLING INSIGHT

What is a non-conforming product? 

A non-conforming product is the one that doesn’t comply with quality requirements. We consider non-conforming containers those which are.

1.  White containers that ARE NOT dirty and/or labelled.  
2. Dark blue containers that ARE NOT dirty and/or labelled.  
3. Other colour & IML containers that ARE NOT dirty. 
4. Post-Consumer Resin (PCR) / Recycled Polypropylene based (RPP) containers that ARE NOT dirty and/or labelled.  

Dirty/contaminated containers will go to mixed garbage. 

Other waste can be thrown in the mixed garbage container. This could be such as dust from the floor, wood, cardboard, granules, plastic foils, paper, tape, or labels. 

There will be two recycling stations, located at Hall 1 & Hall 5/6.

In each recycling station we will find the 5 cardboard pallets representing the 4 recycling categories and 1 more for mixed garbage. 
Each cardboard pallet will have a sign indicating the recycling category.

Knowing the different type of indications we use will help you to recycle the products in the correct recycling container. As it has been mentioned before we have 4 different indicators for each category.



Take in consideration that the use of colours for the bins in each illustration are the main key to separate the different indicators. We will be looking closer in to this later.

The white plastic products must be separated from all other colours. This is indicated in the illustration by using a white bin and a white product as marked in the illustration below.

The dark blue plastic products must be separated from all other colours. This is indicated in the illustration by using a dark blue bin and a dark blue product as marked in the illustration below.

The other plastic colours must be separated from the white and the dark blue.. This is indicated in the illustration by using a multicoloured bin and multiple products with different colours product as marked in the illustration below.

The PCR/RPP plastic must be separated from all the other products. This is indicated in the illustration by using a blue outlined bin and product, as marked in the illustration below.

Under each machine (except food contact production, not allowed to have waste around the machine) there will be 2 mini bins. 

1. Recycling bin: for any plastic containers that ARE NOT dirty/contaminated
2. Mixed garbage: for dirty/contaminated containers and other waste.  

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Make sure that you follow all the instructions and sort out correctly, so that it will make the content of the mini bins fast and easy to sort out over to the recycling containers. The non-conforming product should be in the mini bin labeled "ONLY PLASTIC" and everything else should go in the other mini bin labeled "MIXED GARBAGE".




DISCLAIMER: make sure to empty the mini bins correclty in the recycling bins before leaving shift.

Once these bins are full will be transported to one of the main recycling stations. The content of the mixed garbage mini bin will go to the mixed garbage pallet. The non-conforming products of the other mini bin will have to be sorted into the 4 different recycling pallets (1. White, 2. Dark blue, 3. Other colour &I ML and 4. PCR/RPP). 

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

Pallet must be checked by shift manager / quality assistant / quality-production lead before being closed. Successful recycling only takes place if materials are sorted correctly and there’s no trace of contamination.

• Pallets must be closed as usual.  
• Pallets must be marked with the name of the station “DARK BLUE” 
• Pallets must be marked with a red quality label. 
• Afterwards they need to be transported to WH2.
